Jacob Houston of Greenwich, New York is a twenty four year old artist who specializes in acrylic paintings of the local countryside as well as distant cityscapes. He is known for the vibrant colors and unique perspective that he uses in his paintings - often from high in the air, looking down at his subject.

In high school, Jacob began his art sales business (jacobhoustonart.com) where he currently sells original artwork as well as giclée art rag prints, giclée canvases, and note cards depicting his works.

Living his entire life in rural Washington County, New York with the Battenkill River in his backyard has influenced Jacob’s creation of bright country scenes. Additionally, finding inspiration from his love of travel, many of Jacob’s creations reflect his appreciation of the places he has visited. Travels to Ireland, Switzerland, and France have all had a strong impact on his paintings.

Houston has been featured in articles about his artwork in the Saratoga Living magazine as well as the Times Union, the Post Star, the Hill Country Observer, and the Berkshire Transcript. He has participated in many exhibits and gallery shows, including Malta League of Arts as a featured artist, and LARAC’s Lapham Gallery in a three person exhibit.

With age, Houston’s determination to make art his career has become apparent. He hopes to some day build his own gallery. More of Jacob’s art can be seen on his website www.jacobhoustonart.com .
